Troy Chew is a graduate of the California College of the Arts and an artist with a passion for expressive realism. Through his work he pays homage to hip hop words and culture. He draws inspiration from historical events of the mid 17th century and his paintings depict each object as a symbol and a symbol. In his work he uses different displays and combinations of objects to express slang and phenomena, such as bread lying next to cabbage, basketballs and paper to symbolise money. So his inspiration for me is that the combination of products and objects can evoke words, slang or deeper meanings.
